Registry Funding and Support |

Funding and support for the Rick Hansen Spinal Cord Injury Registry is provided by a number of visionary government bodies and organizations.
- Primary funding is provided by Health Canada.
- The Government of Ontario funds all Registry sites in Ontario and provides 40% of all Registry operational costs.
- The Government of Alberta funds all Registry sites in Alberta and provides a portion of the leadership operational costs for the Registry.
- Western Economic Diversification provides a portion of the operational costs for the information technology requirements of the Registry.
- The Rick Hansen Foundation provides funding stewardship for the Registry.
- All Registry funding flows through the University of British Columbia and Vancouver Coastal Health, which provide administrative, human resources and operational support.
- The Registry operates as a program of the Rick Hansen Institute, which provides infrastructure, administrative and operational support.
- All participating Registry sites are supported in a variety of ways by the various hospitals and universities affiliated with them. (See Registry Sites for more information).
- The Government of Queensland has committed financial support to create the first international Registry site, in Brisbane.
