Canada's National SCI Registry

Welcome to the Rick Hansen SCI Registry (RHSCIR). Working with our partners in SCI health care and research across Canada, we are collecting, managing and analyzing important data from Canadians with spinal cord injuries. We're also expanding internationally and are already working with partners in Australia. Our goal is to provide the baseline information needed to greatly accelerate spinal cord injury research in Canada and around the globe.

Enrolment Surges in 2010

Enrolment in the Rick Hansen SCI Registry dramatically increased in 2010. As of December 7, 552 participants had consented to have their SCI-related data captured by the Registry in the past year.

Registry Down Under

In April 2010, Queensland Premier Anna Bligh visited the Blusson Spinal Cord Centre and announced that the next Rick Hansen SCI Registry site would be located in Brisbane. The significance of this cannot be understated: with the announcement of her government’s $1 million funding for the new Brisbane site, Premier Bligh is making it possible for the Registry to officially move beyond Canadian borders and become a global entity.
