Global Collaboration PDF Imprimer Envoyer

The future of the Registry is one of expansion beyond our borders. The power of the Registry could be exponentially increased through international data collection and sharing and RHSCIR has garnered considerable interest globally:

  • In April 2010, Queensland Premier Anna Bligh, along with Rick Hansen, announced funding for Brisbane researchers at Princess Alexandra Hospital to form the first international partner site of the Rick Hansen Spinal Cord Injury Registry.
  • In December 2010, RHI signed an agreement with Israel through collaboration with the Hebrew University’s Institute of Medical Research Israel – Canada (IMRIC).
  • In April 2011, RHI signed agreements with the China Rehabilitation Research Center (CRRC) and the Peking University Third Hospital to strengthen cooperative SCI research and rehabilitation initiatives in China, signed as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of Rick Hansen’s Man in Motion World Tour and will help advance the field of SCI research and contribute to the global quest for accessibility.

Clearly, SCI knows no borders. Answers to important questions about SCI will be generated that much sooner with collaboration that extends around the world—collaboration which is entirely possible with RHSCIR.
